ESB has confirmed a number of power outages in different locations around the country.
The ESB website states that there have been electrical faults in the Navan area of Meath, Glasmore and Harold’s Cross in Dublin, and the Glenties in Donegal.
More than 700 people were affected in Navan, while over 2,100 customers in Glasmore were left without power this afternoon.
Further power cuts were later announced on the ESB twitter page, stating that Donabate, Clane and Prosperous are among the newly affected areas.

ESB is advising customers to charge up phones, laptops and tablets in order to be able to receive updates and have access to the internet in the case that their power goes.

A statement was issued on the ESB website ahead of the arrival of Storm Emma which read: “ESB Networks are continuing to monitor the deteriorating weather situation and its potential impact on the electricity network.”
“As part of the National Emergency Co-Ordination Group ESB Networks has been working with the emergency services to ensure the safety of the public during this period and putting plans in place to address any damage to electricity services.”
