Variety is reporting that Irish Actor Derrick O’Connor has died following a battle with pneumonia in Santa Barbara, California.
He was 77.
He was born in Dublin but was raised in London and has lived in the US since 1990 with his wife Mimi.
He starred in famous films such a ‘Time Bandits’, ‘Brazil’ and ‘Jabberwocky’ which were directed by Terry Gilliam’s
He was the villain, Pieter Vorstedt, in ‘Lethal Weapon 2’ and worked alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in “End of Days” and more recently starred in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.’
He also appeared on hit television shows such as: ‘Alias, ‘Murder She Wrote’, ‘Stringer’, ‘Fox’ and ‘The Sweeney.’
His acting style was so unusual that he often cut down or sometimes eliminated lines completely from a certain scene in order to make the role seem more intense.
He is survived by his widow, Mimi, and son, Max.
