You better milk this for all it's worth...

Social welfare recipients in Ireland will now have the chance to earn extra money, while also receiving dole, as Teagasc, Animal Health Ireland and FRS network are running two-day courses which deals with all the aspects of milking cows on dairy farms.

The courses will include preparation, use of the machinery, milking and cleaning.

According to, the course will cost about €250 up front, but then those who partake in it can earn an extra €5,000 a year working part time, while also not affecting their dole payments.

The course is being offered in an attempt to raise awareness for the shortage of labour in the dairy sector.

Keen to earn some extra cash and learn a new skill?
