Enda Kenny To Discuss Undocumented Irish Living In The US With Trump

Alana Laverty

Taoiseach Enda Kenny arrived in Philadelphia yesterday as part of the first leg of his week-long Paddy’s visit to the US.

At an Irish-American event in Philly yesterday, Kenny said that the situation of the estimated 50,000 undocumented Irish living in the US will be one of his “absolute priorities” when meeting President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

“It will be no surprise to anyone here that one of my absolute priorities in meeting Vice President Pence, President Trump and other senior political figures this coming week is to renew the strong case on behalf of the hard-working, tax-paying Irish people in the United States.”

Enda Kenny

Undocumented Irish in the US have been “living in the shadows” since Trump’s election and introduction of new immigration policies.

Kenny says these Irish poeple would like “nothing more than to continue making their contribution to this great country”.

Fingers cross Trump agrees.
