5 Movies That’ll Make You Wanna Get Up And Go Travelling Right This Second

Alana Laverty

Why not settle down this weekend, on the couch or in your leaba, and set about watching one of these amazing movies that’ll make you wanna get up and go!

Most of us long to travel and search for a bitta adventure in our daily lives… but if that’s not possible in your life right now then hopefully these movies will tide you over.

They mightn’t be the newest movies around, but they’re certainly good’uns.

1. Angels And Demons

Perhaps a rather strange one to include in a list of travel movies, however a race through Vatican City and Rome is both exhilarating and will make you awestruck. Robert Langdon travels all over the two cities in a very short period of time (12 hours to be exact) and the amount of amazing places you get to see in this movie are amazing.

Well worth a watch.

2. Bucket List

Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson set off on an amazing trip after they find out they’re both ill.

Destinations such as Mount Everest, Paris and the Taj Mahal are just some of the places these guys hit up on their trip and the movie is both inspiring and makes you crave travelling like no other.

3. 127 Hours

An inspiring movie based on a true story sees James Franco take on the role of Aron Ralston who is a mountaineer and adventurer who gets trapped in a remote canyon in Utah.

While we highly recommend not getting up to anything to dangerous that could see you get trapped in a canyon, we do highly recommend taking a look at this movie from the comfort of your own couch.

4. Into The Wild

Again, based on a true story, Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch), of a wealthy family graduates from university.

However, instead of embarking on a prestigious and profitable career, he chooses to give his savings to charity, rids himself of his possessions, and sets out on a journey to the Alaskan wilderness. Such an amazing movie and well worth watching.

5. The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty

Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller), an employee at Life magazine, spends day after monotonous day developing photos for the publication.

However, he gets a chance to have a real adventure when Life’s new owners send him on a mission to obtain the perfect photo for the final print issue.
