Childline ambassador, chairperson Inclusive Fashion & Design Collective and generally eloquent gal Sinéad Burke is once again, bowling us over with her greatness.
Having liaised with Foras Na Gaeilge about translating the phrase ‘little person’ and sticking it into the foclóir, she’s only gone and done it.
And with her blessing, they both settled on ‘duine beag’ (little person).
I’ve been liaising with @ForasnaGaeilge about introducing ‘little person’ to the Irish dictionary. Today, it’s official. Is duine beag mé. pic.twitter.com/WO5PFfNBag

Maith an bhean!
What may seem as something relatively insignificant to a lot of people, made quite an impact on both the Irish community and little people all around the country. And, Sinéad was quite chuffed herself.
I wish I could repeat my Leaving Certificate, just so I could re-sit my Irish oral and introduce myself as a ‘duine beag’.

She also got acres of praise from the Gaeilgeoirí of the Twittersphere.
Maith thú.

It seems she’s made quite a significant impact on the Irish world, once more.
