The Gardaí are warning festival goers headed for Electric Picnic this weekend to make sure their tickets are genuine.

Ahead of the weekend in Stradbally, they’re asking people to check their tickets – particularly print-at-home tickets that are being sold online.

Print-at-home tickets have not been issued for Electric Picnic, so people trying to buy last-minute tickets are being reminded to only buy from legitimate sources.

An Garda Síochána is also warning that third-party payment sites are being used to make money off unsuspecting fans in these scams.

Detective Chief Superintendent Pat Lordan, of the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau, today said “We are working closely with the organisers to prevent fans from being left disappointed by the activities of criminals.

“It is important to stress that the print-at-home format is not being used for Electric Picnic and that the public only buy tickets from authorised sources.”

Be careful, lads.
