Sarah

A man in his 50s has lost sight in one eye after he was seriously assaulted in his pub in Cork city in April.

The Journal reports that Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information about the assault, which happened in the Chimes Bar on Church Street on Sunday 16th April around 10pm.

It’s understood that the man was attacked in the bar, and while Gardai could not confirm the exact nature of his injuries they say they are “serious”, and sources say the man lost use of one eye.

Gardai are asking anyone who was in the pub premises on 16th April or to any person who can assist with the investigation to contact Watercourse Road Garda Station on 021-4558260, the Garda Confidential line 1 800 666 111.
