Gardaí Appeal For People To Stop Sharing Photos Of Tragic M50 Crash

Gardaí have asked the public to stop sharing images of the M50 crash in which a woman died, out of respect to her family.

The tragic accident took place on Thursday at Junction 5 in Finglas, heading northbound.

The woman who was in her 30s sadly died at the scene after suffering from catastrophic head injuries.

A man in his 50s in a second car was taken to hospital but his injuries are said to be non-life threatening, while a third car and a lorry were also damaged.

A Garda spokesperson said, “Investigating Gardaí are aware of images taken at the crash site currently being circulated online and are asking people not to share or circulate the images out of respect to the family of the deceased and those involved in the collision.”

They added, “Investigating Gardaí are appealing for information, they are particularly appealing to anyone who was travelling on the M50 from Junction 6 (Blanchardstown) and Junction 5 (Finglas) between 11.15am and 11.30am to contact them.”
