Gardaí believe Joanne Lee may have already been strangled to death when her estranged husband reported her missing, according to independent.ie.
The body of the 38-year-old was found wrapped in bed sheets and a sleeping bag at a Ranelagh address, two days after Keith Lee (42) presented at Store Street garda station to report his wife missing.
He also noted that there were ‘major difficulties’ in their relationship.
Gardaí then issued a missing person appeal for Joanne on Wednesday night, however officers now believe she may already have been dead at this point.
Gardaí found Joanne’s body in the wardrobe of the Ranelagh property after being led there by a car Joanne had access to, which was at the property.
Gardaí confirmed that they believe a man who jumped from the third-storey of the building shortly after they had been called, sustaining injuries to his legs and ribs, was Keith Lee – Joanne’s estranged ex husband.
Speaking at a press briefing at the scene in Ranelagh yesterday, Superintendent Gerry Delmar from Donnybrook garda station said they believed the man being treated in hospital is Keith Lee.
Asked who the man is, Supt Delmar said: “The man, we believe, is her estranged husband.”
Mr Lee has not been arrested as he is receiving treatment in hospital for his injuries, but it is expected he will be arrested and questioned in the coming days.
