Our beloved heatwave will make a brief comeback over the next couple of days as temperatures are set to reach 23°.
According to Met Éireann, these balmy temperatures and sunny spells will only grace us with their presence briefly as heavy rain is set to hit the country on Friday.
Not ideal.
“A more persistent spell of rain will affect the north and west on Friday, but places further east will be mainly dry with a few sunny breaks. Moderate southwest winds. Temperatures typically in the mid to high teens.”
Looking ahead to the weekend, the forecaster predicted, “Outbreaks of rain on occasions, but all areas getting dry spells too. The rain may be heavy at times especially in the west. Predominantly moderate to fresh southwest winds. Staying quite mild, but with recurring mist and low cloud near Atlantic coasts.”
Rest in peace Heatwave of 2018, we hardly knew ye.
