James Fenton

Brollies at the ready.

The Irish weather is set to ruin any plans you have this weekend with heavy showers forecast around the country. Shite buzz.

However, there’s no need to get too down as the changeable nature of our climate means that it’s not all bad news.

Here’s the Met Éireann forecast for the next few days.

Friday

Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle today. A few bright spells breaking through the cloud at times. Highs of 17 to 20 degrees with moderate to fresh westerly breezes.

There will be the occasional shower overnight but most of the night will be dry and clear. Lows of 11 or 12 degrees.

Saturday

A bright and fresh day for Saturday with good sunshine at times but with a scattering of passing heavy showers. Highs of 16 to 18 degrees in blustery northwesterly winds.

Sunday

A dry and bright morning for the bulk of the country. Ulster and most of Leinster will remain dry until evening time but rain will develop through Munster and Connacht during the afternoon with the rain extending to all places during the evening and night.
