Gardaí are currently investigating a tragic incident involving a woman on a ride-on lawnmower.
The woman, who Gardaí say is in her mid 50s, was fatally injured in Tipperary on Friday evening.
Gardaí state that the woman was on the ride-on lawnmower when she collided with a ditch.
A post-mortem is currently taking place and Gardaí say that investigations are on-going.
A similar incident, almost six years to the day, happened in Cork when an author was killed in what was described as a “freak” lawnmower accident.
The 60-year-old, Bodo Baginski was killed in Glengarriff when the ride-on lawn mower he was using to cut a neighbour’s grass toppled over.
He was using the machine on an incline when the incident occurred and was found by his partner.
Some of his work included, The Chakra Handbook and Reiki: Universal Life Energy, one of the first best-seller books on reiki. His books were translated into several languages.
