We’ve gotten ourselves a modern day Italia ’90, folks.
Ireland thrives on sport as a nation. In the depths of a recession, we tooks our minds off everything by going to Poland and Ukraine and watching Ireland’s soccer team getting hammered out the door in the group stages.
And we celebrated everyday like we won the bloody thing, and it was even more intense during the 2002 World Cup and 2016 European Championships just because we done reasonably well.
GAA, Rugby, cricket – we love when the Irish people are doing well but we have to admit we are jumping on a winning bandwagon here because as of the last couple of days we have become hockey diehards.
If you think the above scenes are memorable, imagine if we actually did win a competition outright.
After a tense shootout on Thursday, Ireland’s women’s hockey team are in a Semi-Final clash on Saturday where they face Spain for a place in the final.
