DesignPop is Ireland’s first festival combining food and design.
The festival embraces the natural beauty and unique character of selected locations in Cork city. Last year, six designers were chosen to create installations that would add life to the city. The creatives involved have paired up with some incredible food and drink producers to create a bespoke space that supports the ethos of each brand in a highly designed structure.
The weekend’s programme will give creatives and foodies alike a platform to discuss and showcase their work processes. These events will happen all over the city both within the installations and in spaces around the city that already champion design and education.
Taking place from May 17-19, this free food and design trail is not to be missed.

The line-up is looking pretty slick too:
Having exhibited in The National Gallery of Ireland and Áras an Uachtaráin, Cork printmaker and visual artist, Shane O’Driscoll brings his signature designs to a collaboration with socially conscious plant-based food company, Banana Melon Kitchen to create a pavilion in Emmet Place.
Irish graphic designer, illustrator and Design POP brand creator, Conor Merriman is partnering with Cork’s favourite coffee spot, SOMA for a custom structure in Bishop Lucey Park.

The pavilion on Nano Nagle Place will be created by the neighbourhoods renowned Good Day Deli founded by Kiwi eco warriors, Clare and Kristin and talented Corkonian Alan Macilwraith from JCA Architects.
Joining these amazing designers and food producers will be a full schedule of workshops, speakers and exhibitions happening in iconic locations across Cork city.
The weekend is a celebration of innovation, creativity and Cork.
Looking froward to it!
