The Irish Sun is stating that an Irish soccer coach has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault.
The league of Ireland coach is accused of assaulting the teenage boy on a trip away in early 2018.
The complainant states that he was sexually assaulted and woke up with his underwear around his ankles.
The coach in question was previously a professional footballer.
The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) released its child safety procedures back in 2016 and volunteers must be garda vetted in order to coach.
The FAI hope that by the end of the decade, underage managers will have to show evidence of garda vetting to referees before games.
Gardaí are saying that the matter is too sensitive to comment on.
