Ireland Has A Big New Millionaire Following Massive Irish Lotto Win

Darragh Berry

What a lovely treat to get just as we head into the Bank Holiday weekend.

There’s a new millionaire in town tonight folks and it’s all thanks to the Lotto Plus 1 draw.

The winner, whose ticket was sold in the south of the country, matched all of the following numbers in the draw to win one million bleeding yoyos:

8, 15, 22, 32, 34, 41 and the bonus 46.

There was no winner of the Lotto jackpot of nearly €4m but over 26,000 players won prizes including one winner of the Match 5 Plus Bonus prize of €134,029.00 – not a bad cash prize either.

The numbers for that were: 8, 19, 24, 29, 42, 45 and the bonus 7.

There was no winner of the Lotto Plus 2 prize but someone did win a cash prize from matching 5 numbers and the plus.

The numbers in that draw were: 3, 16, 24, 30, 31, 34 and the bonus 22.

Get checking those tickets, folks.

This comes on the same day that a Limerick woman claimed a cool €40,005 prize won on Telly Bingo, while two other delighted players claimed €50,000 each on scratch card wins.

The lucky Telly Bingo winner, Betty O’Keeffe, from Garyspillane, Co. Limerick, revealed she has been playing the game since it started in 1999 and plays with three other members of her family every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Speaking on the heart-stopping moment she realised she won, Betty O’Keeffe said:

“It was amazing. We’ve been playing since the start and the most I’ve ever won was €100. I heard the presenter (Declan Buckley) call number 24 and I realised I just needed 11. I tried to get the words out to the others that I was just waiting on one when out came number 11! I was just blathering in disbelief and finally shouted – ‘I WON’. I was stuck to the chair for about 10 minutes with the shock. The others were jumping all over the sitting room celebrating. It was pandemonium.”

Betty won the Snowball prize on Telly Bingo on Friday 19th October.

She bought her lucky ticket in the Supervalu store on Sarsfield Street, Kilmallock in Co. Limerick. She said that she will put her winnings to treat her family and to do up the house before Christmas.

Winners all-round.
