The 20-year-old Irish tourist who tragically passed away after falling from a Magaluf balcony has been named as Thomas Owen Hughes.

Police have launched an investigation after Thomas' body was found at the Eden Roc apartment block on Sunday morning at around 11am.

It is thought he may have been dead for several hours before his body was found.

According to the Irish Mirror, a source said:

“A neighbour alerted police at around 11am saying they could see a person lying on the ground.

“He fell from a height of around 20metres.”

The young man is believed to have been staying in a nearby hotel, having arrived in the Spanish holiday spot the day before.

It is reported that neighbours heard noise at around 4am on Sunday morning, although it is not clear if this was directly related to the incident.

Just last April, Scottish teenager Natalie Cormack died after falling from a balcony at the same apartment complex, after attempting to reach her room from a neighbouring balcony.
