It’s Looking Increasingly Likely That Sean Spicer Will Be The Next US Ambassador To Ireland

James Fenton

Sean Spicer has formally resigned as Donald Trump’s Press Secretary after a disagreement over a new communications director.

According to Newstalk’s Richard Chambers, it now means that “all the pieces are now aligned for Spicer to be appointed US Ambassador to Ireland”.

Spicer has previously been mooted for the vacant role and Irish Central have revisited the possibility in light of his resignaiton.

The 45-year-old has been open about being a proud Irishman in the past and his great grandfather emigrated to the States from Kinsale, Co. Cork.

The rumours of him taking up the Irish ambassadorial role are gathering speed online.
