Irish Youngster Included In Liverpool Line-Up For Tonight’s Big Match

There are worse ways to spend a Monday evening than rub shoulders with the greatest footballers in the world and that’s literally what Cork youngster Caoimhin Kelleher will be doing tonight.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper has been named on the bench for Liverpool’s F.A. Cup third round trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers and he’s in pretty impressive company with the likes of Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino sitting next to him.

With the club’s main priorities being the Premier League and Champions League, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has named a much-changed side in order to rest key players. Regular goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been replaced by Simon Mignolet, allowing Kelleher to be bumped to the position of substitute.

While it’s unlikely that the youngster will see any action tonight, if he does, he will become the first Irish player since Robbie Keane to take to the pitch for the Merseyside club.

Wolves v Liverpool gets underway at 7.45pm and will be live on BBC 1.
