“What Limerick Should Focus On If They Want To Beat Galway” – The Champions Have A Chink In Their Armour

Darragh Berry

Galway are looking to complete two-in-a-row while Limerick look to end their thirsty drought for glory, a drought which Galway knew all too well up until last year.

Eamon Fennell, Ross McConnell and Dotsy O’Callaghan all think that Galway will have enough to do the business on Sunday but there is one aspect that has been Galway’s achilles heel in recent games that they think the Munster team need to focus on if they want to show their dominance in the game.

“You look at their last couple of games – they’ve been flying it out of the blocks for the first 20 minutes and then they’re hitting a bit of a lul.

“They nearly lost the replay, twice they blew away a nine point lead [in the Semi-Final clash with Clare].

“They are getting into that position at the start where they are stamping their authority on the game.

“Whereas, I’d just love to see Limerick now, be a couple of points up or at least be still in it after 20 minutes because Galway are lulling for long periods and that can be exploited.”

Will Limerick finally quench their thirst and drink from Liam McCarthy or will the west be awake once more.

You can listen to the lads discuss the hurling from the 30 minute mark.
