PIC: A Present That Every Irish Lad Definitely Got This Christmas Has Been Urgently Recalled

Darragh Berry

There’s a very good chance that you got a Lynx gift set this Christmas but if it was this one you got, it needs to be returned.

Unilever has issued an urgent recall for the Lynx The Golden Year and Lynx Black gift sets over safety fears.

The gift sets, which come with floating shower speakers, are being recalled because of the USB cable according to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).

It is feared that the speakers may overheat when they are charging and have the possibility of burning or risks of fire.

The Golden Year trio set include the 150ml Lynx Gold body spray, 150ml Lynx Gold antiperspirant and 250ml Lynx Gold body.

The Lynx Black gift includes similar products.

The product was stocked in Tesco, Argos, Dunnes Stores and SuperValu in Ireland.

Lynx Shower Recall

In a statement, the CCPC said that:

“Unilever UK Ltd is carrying out a voluntary recall of two offerings; its ‘Lynx The Golden Year’ and ‘Lynx Black’ gift sets with floating shower speakers. The safety concern identified is that the USB cable may overheat during charging, leading to the potential risk of burns and/or fire.

“This recall only relates to the speaker and not to the cosmetic products within the gift sets.”

“This product was stocked in the Republic of Ireland, through the following retailers: Argos, Tesco, Sam McCauley Chemists Group, Dunnes Stores, SuperValu, Centra, O’Sullivans Pharmacies, and C.H. Chemists, amongst others.

“If you have the above-listed product then please discontinue use of the speaker and charger immediately. Please return the item to the place of purchase with your receipt, where a full refund will be provided.”
