Temperatures Are Set To Fall Below Zero Tonight

Wrap up warm because it looks like we’re in for some freezing cold weather tonight.

We’ve had a grim weekend so far with plenty of rain and a number of status yellow wind warnings around the country, but Sunday’s weather is going to improve a bit before temperatures plummet.

A Met Éireann forecaster said, “The good news is that the strong breeze is going to moderate somewhat today and the next few days will bring a fair amount of dry weather overall.

“Today is going to be rather cool, with a mix of bright spells and scattered showers.

“The showers will become increasingly confined to the north and north west of the country though during the afternoon, with good dry periods developing.”

Temperatures throughout the day are expected to reach 8 to 10°C before dropping to zero tonight.

They also predicted that there would be “very unsettled weather continuing throughout next week”.
