You might want to rethink any plans that involve going outside this weekend because we’re in for some grim weather over the next few days.
Met Éireann has just issued a snow-ice warning for Ireland starting from tonight.
The status yellow warning will come into effect at 11pm tonight and stay in place until Monday at 6am.
The warning on their website reads, ‘Scattered thundery showers of hail, sleet and snow expected during the period. Poor visibility, slippery and icy conditions will occur at times.’
After a windy and rainy start to Saturday, it’s expected to stay dry and bright for most of the day before taking a turn for the worse tonight.

A forecaster said, “This evening, rain will spread northeastwards over the region. Highest temperatures of 7C to 9C with fresh, gusty westerly winds.
“Early tonight, rain will turn to sleet and snow in many areas, bringing snow accumulations and hazardous conditions on roads and paths, especially in the south of the region.
“A separate band of rain, sleet and snow will move in from the west overnight bringing further accumulations Lowest temperatures of 0C to 2C.”
Tomorrow will be another icy cold day, with the forecaster adding, “Sunday will be a cold, raw day with widespread wintry showers or rain, hail, sleet or snow with a risk of thunder.
“Highest temperatures of 5C or 6C with fresh to strong, gusty westerly winds and with gales on coasts.”
