Met Éireann is predicting a rise in temperatures this weekend

With 2020 being 2020, we didn’t exactly get a chance to enjoy our summer this year and there were mainly two reasons for that.

The first one is that people have been doing the responsible thing by spending more time at home in order to combat the spread of Covid-19. Secondly, the weather hasn’t exactly been great meaning that when we did manage to get out, we were rarely without our rain jackets just in case.

This weekend though, summer 2020 is set to make a brief appearance before departing for good, according to Met Éireann at least. The experts suggest that both Saturday and Sunday will be warm and dry with temperatures potentially reaching 21 degrees. Although a quick look at our weather app tells us that Dublin could even see highs of 23 on Sunday.

Alan O’Reilly, the ever-reliable expert behind Carlow Weather, also reckons that Sunday will offer plenty of opportunity to get out and about, stating that ‘Sunday is still looking good’ along with some promising-looking infographics…

Remember though, with Covid-19 cases rising in recent days, we are being advised to keep our social contacts low at the moment. Get some fresh air but keep your distance and wash your hands regularly. More information can be found on the HSE website here.

Met Éireann’s full outlook for the days ahead can be found via this link.
