PICS: It’s Not Over Yet – There’s Another Storm (Bronagh) Heading For Ireland And It’s Going To Be Worse Than Ali

Darragh Berry

If you thought we were over the worst of it, think again.

As Ireland starts to regain itself following Storm Ali’s heavy influence on the weather on Wednesday, Met Éireann is warning that a second storm is ready to hit over the weekend.

The Storm, which will be called ‘Bronagh’, is currently being tracked by forecasters.

The effects of Storm Ali are still with us even on Thursday morning as Met Éireann issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for seven counties advising how a ‘very disturbed’ low pressure system could be the cause of the second storm.

The warning is Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford at 9pm this morning and will remain in valid until 9pm on Thursday night.

Speaking to The Irish Independent, a spokesperson for Met Éireann said that Storm Bronagh is a totally different case than Storm Ali.

“Ali was a small area but this could be more widespread.

“It’s a very disturbed bit of weather but we’re still not 100pc sure.”

“It’s still a possibility but it’s too early to call.”

This has the potential to cause even more destruction to our island.
