One Of Ireland’s Most Popular Rail Routes Will Be Closed This June

mariemadden

Irish Rail has warned commuters to expect major disruption to one of Ireland’s busiest rail routes this June.

The Limerick-Limerick Junction line will be out of operation from Sunday 4 June until Sunday 25 June, with a knock-on effect for services to and from Dublin Heuston, Galway and other locations.

The cancellation is due to “major signalling works”, with bus transfers in place on many routes.

The changes will result in…

  • Bus transfers on all services between Limerick and Limerick Junction, with onward train connections to/from Dublin and Cork
  • Bus transfers on all services between Limerick and Ennis with onward train connections to/from Galway
  • Bus transfers between Limerick and Birdhill with an onward train connection to/from Ballybrophy.
  • Bus transfers will depart Limerick 15 minutes earlier than the advertised train departure time
  • A reduced service to Sixmilebridge.
