James Fenton

We’re more used to seeing Hector bouncing around ag caint Gaeilge but this latest version looks altogether more sinister.

Met Éireann has this morning issued a status orange weather warning as Storm Hector makes its way across the country. The wind warning will affect Donegal, Mayo, Galway and Sligo with gusts of 110 to 125 km/hr, strongest in coastal areas.

Meanwhile, Storm Hector also brings a status yellow wind warning to the counties of Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon, Clare and Kerry where gusts will reach speeds of 90 to 110 km/hr.
