Ireland has always boasted a creative diaspora – and this week, one of our own has made one of the most influential covers in the world.
In a truly influential way.
Dubliner Jon Berkeley created this powerful image, shared on his personal Instagram below, depicting President Trump, bellowing through a megaphone, styled in the form of a KKK hood.
This follows Trump’s blaming of both sides involved in the deadly violence experienced in Charlottesville which left one woman dead.
“I think there is blame on both sides,” the president said in an exchange with reporters at Trump Tower in Manhattan. “You had a group on one side that was bad. You had a group on the other side that was also very violent. Nobody wants to say that. I’ll say it right now.”
While Jon’s piece has been receiving pleasant comments on his own personal Instagram account, Twitter is also rife in messages bashing the cover art.
Jon, however, isn’t all that worried. Speaking to the Irish Times, the illustrator, who lives in Spain now, said:
”I wasn’t really worried, geographically I’m quite far away at least.”
