Ireland is nice, right? We've great food, good craic and some of the most beautiful scenery around. Grand, yeah.
What we don't have though, is the weather. When the sun shines in Ireland the cranky bus driver smiles, drinking cans outside becomes acceptable – no, necessary – and burnt skin is back in fashion.
It's glorious. So when we saw this tweet from Met Eireann about the number of sunshine hours that Ireland received yesterday we were tempted to hop straight onto SkyScanner and book the first flight out of Dublin to Las Palmas.
Met Eireann say that most areas in the country get an average of between 3 1/4 and 3 3/4 hours of sunshine each day...
But yesterday was a grand total of ZERO.
The eye roll emoji is right...
Sunshine totals for today (hours): ????
Valentia Observatory 0.0
Malin Head 0.0
Dublin Airport 0.0
Johnstown Castle 0.0
Casement Airport 0.0
Shannon Airport 0.0
Cork Airport 0.0

What did we do to deserve such gloom? It's a wonder we don't all have rickety bones from the lack of Vitamin D.
