The UK Met Office has issued an updated rain warning, effective from midnight tonight until 12pm on Wednesday.
People are being advised to batten down the hatches this week as forecasters predict that heavy rainfall is on the way.
Coinciding with the anticipated arrival of Storm Christoph in the coming days, the UK Met Office has just issued an updated weather advisory – warning locals in Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry that heavy rainfall is to be expected.
“Heavy rain and, later, hill snow likely leads to some disruption during Tuesday and Wednesday.”
Issued just before noon today, the warning will be in effect from midnight tonight until 12pm on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Met Éireann has also issued a heavy rainfall warning for eleven different counties, advising the public to prepare for “accumulations of 30 to 50mm, with higher accumulations in mountainous areas”. Locals are also being warned that river and spot flooding could occur as a result.
Cold weather is due to return once the rain passes with the rest of the week bringing snow, sleet and frosty conditions along with it.
