Further rainfall will develop overnight with showers in the west and north of the country extending eastwards to all areas. Forecasters have also warned against the possibility of thunderstorms and spot flooding – especially in the west and northwest.
The rain is expected to let up for Bank Holiday Monday but only slightly, with Met Éireann saying:
“Monday will bring sunny spells and showers to all areas, some heavy. They’ll become more isolated through the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds, easing later.”
As for the rest of the week? Sounds like it will be much of the same I’m afraid with more rain and wind promised until Friday. All the more reason to stay wrapped up inside.
