Rare ‘Moonbow’ Spotted Last Night Is Really Something Special

An incredible lunar rainbow – i.e. a ‘moonbow’ – was spotted in Yorkshire, and it’s maybe one of the most incredible sky viewings we’ve ever seen. 

Ben Gwynne of 159 Photography took the sensational shots on the moors above Skipton, Yorkshire, Sunday night.

He went to take a photo of the supermoon that lit up over the skies of the UK on Sunday when he spotted this extremely rare natural phenomenon

Lunar rainbows occur when moonlight (as opposed to sunlight) is refracted by moisture in the atmosphere.

And they look bloody fantastic.
