Trying to pass your driving test? It turns out that it does indeed matter where you sit the test, as new figures released to Dublin Live reveal that Dublin had the highest recorded fail rates for the category B licence in 2017.
Motorists failed the test more often that passed, with a 49.5% pass rate compared with a 50.5% fail rate across the country last year.
108,930 sat their test to get the B license in 2017, with an almost fail/pass split.
The five towns with the highest pass rate:
- Newcastle West 70.33%
- Kilrush 65.23%
- Clifden 64.32%
- Roscommon 60.25%
- Skibberen 60.13%
The five towns with the lowest pass rate:
- Finglas 40.15%
- Kilkenny 41.29%
- Churchtown 44.43%
- Raheny 44.69%
- Tallaght 44.88%
