RTÉ has agreed to broadcast a signed version of Amhrán Na bhFiann at the All-Ireland Football Final this weekend after nationwide protests by members of the deaf community.

According to the Irish Examiner, a meeting was held between RTÉ executives and members of the Irish Deaf Society after demonstrations outside the broadcaster's studios in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and Waterford.

The move comes after the Irish Sign Language (ISL) version of the anthem was only broadcast for a few seconds at the All-Ireland Hurling Final a fortnight ago.
