RTÉ Producer Pleads Guilty To Charges Of Grooming And Attempting To Incite Sexual Activity With a Minor

RTÉ producer Kieran Creaven has pleaded guilty to charges of grooming and inciting sexual activity with a minor.

The 54-year-old was arrested last month following a sting operation by a UK vigilante group, and appeared before Leeds Crown Court this morning.

Creaven was arraigned on two counts relating to the misconduct with a girl below the age of 16 – that he attempted to meet up with a 13-year-old girl following grooming and that he attempted to incite a girl aged between 13 and 15 to engage in sexual activity.

Kieran Creaven had travelled to Leeds last month after communicating with a fake profile of a 13-year-old girl set up by the vigilante group, Predator Exposure.

Gardaí raided Mr Creaven’s home and seized a laptop following the sting operation.

RTÉ has said it suspended Creaven from duty pending the outcome of the case.

He was released on bail and is due to appear before the court again on February 12.
