Police have finally identified the man in the controversial viral video showing him subjecting a woman to horrific racial abuse on a Ryanair flight.

The airline faced huge backlash after they failed to remove the man from the plane and instead moved the woman to a different seat.

Ryanair later released a statement which read, ‘We are aware of this video and have reported this matter to Essex Police.’

The police also faced criticism for not making any arrests after the video went viral, though they have now confirmed that they have identified the man.

Essex Police said: “We have worked to identify both parties involved in this incident and passed this information to the Spanish authorities, who are leading on this investigation.

“Our officers will continue to provide assistance where necessary throughout the course of this case.”

Delsie Gayle, 77, was on a flight from Barcelona to London Stansted with her daughter, after going on a trip to mark one year since her husband had died, when she was subjected to the horrific abuse.
