Ryanair Vows To Take On Locals To Secure Third Runway At Dublin Airport

mariemadden

Ryanair has committed to throwing its weight behind plans for a €320m third runway at Dublin Airport.

Dublin Aviation Authority has already started construction on the runway, which is due to be operational by 2021.

However, The Irish Independent reports that the organisation is seeking to reverse two conditions of the planning permission – which limit flights to 67 per day and prohibits activity between 11pm and 7am.

While local residents and environmentalists oppose the plans, Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary today committed to joining the DAA in its battle to proceed with the runway.
