The underwater search for 26-year-old GAA star, David Gavin continued for a third day in Canada yesterday.

The Mayo native was last seen diving into the water from a bridge over Beaver River near Kinbasket Lake in British Columbia, Canada on Friday afternoon.

David Gavin had been playing Gaelic football for a club in Vancouver for the last few weeks and was travelling by car with a group of Irish players when they stopped at the Kinbasket Lake Resort in British Columbia for a swim, reports Independent.ie.

Friends and family of the missing Irishman have joined in a vigil along the banks of the river since the tragic incident unfolded on Friday afternoon.
