Shane Long has a history of being a source of support for injured team mates but an incident in last night's game against Tottenham Hotspur even had him grimacing.
Shane Long famously stayed by the side of Seamus Coleman when the defender suffered a horror injury against Wales back in 2017 but he wasn't exactly as comforting for his Southampton team-mate James Ward-Prowse last night.
While the Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that the injury the midfielder suffered is "not that bad", it didn't appear so at the time as Ward-Prowse was writhing in pain after hurting his knee attempting to block a clearance. While some of his team mates were on hand keep the player calm, Long can be seen wandering over before offering his medical analysis saying: "f*ck me, you can see his f*cking bone!"
The Tipp man's exclamation was captured by a Twitter user and you can see it in all its x-rated glory below...

Hassenhuttl did indeed confirm Long's observation that Ward-Prowse's bone was visible but added that "I think it is only a cut on the knee. That is a positive message for me."
Good news for Ward-Prowse and all at Southampton. Let's hope Shane washed his mouth out afterwards.
