Six people were rescued this afternoon from a leisure boat that encountered difficulties off Coolmain, near the Old Head of Kinsale in west Cork.
The Journal reports that the Courtmacsherry RNLI all-weather lifeboat was called to rescue the 17-foot boat, which has experienced engine problems and was blown ashore.
All six people on board are unharmed and have docked at Courtmacsherry Harbour Pontoon.
Brian O’Dwyer of the Courtmacsherry RNLI said: “We are pleased that our lifeboat was again fast away today with our ever-ready volunteers always available, and that the rescue was carried out with great skill and precision on a dangerous coastline in today’s winds.”
