The post mortem has barely even begun on Ireland’s disappointing 2019 Six Nations campaign and already the fixtures have been released for the next two editions of the tournament.
To be fair, even though there were certainly some sub-par performances this year, finishing third is hardly the end of the world. Granted, England and Wales did roll us over considerably but there’s still plenty of time to dust ourselves off before the World Cup in the autumn.
Supporters will be holding out hope that we’ll be showing off the Webb Ellis trophy ahead of Andy Farrell’s first game in charge next year, which we now know will be at home to Scotland on Saturday February 1. We’ll then have the chance for revenge over Wales the following week before a visit to England on February 23.
In 2021, we’ll start with an away trip to Wales on February 7 and will wrap it all up against England on March 20.
