WATCH: This Ireland Fan’s Face When He Meets His Hero Will Bring A Tear To Your Eye

James Fenton

Seven-year-old football fanatic Cathal Byrne absolutely loves the Republic Of Ireland international team, in particular goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

The Bray stopper gave Cathal, who suffers from dyspraxia, an awful fright when he turned up out of nowhere to say hello.

Not only that, Darren told Cathal he will walk out alongside him on Sunday as a mascot for the crucial World Cup Qualifier against Austria at the Aviva Stadium, something the young man has always dreamed of.

It’s all part of Three’s #TheCallUp campaign which has previously seen Robbie Keane and others speak of their first call-up to the national team.

A wonderful gesture by the Boys In Green. On a side note, after much speculation on whether Randolph or Keiren Westwood would start in goal against the Austrians, we may now know the answer.

Take a look at Cathal’s face when he meets his hero below.
