On Friday morning, Met Éireann issued a status yellow weather warning for 10 counties. That warning has since been re-issued and as well as this, a status orange wind warning has been issued for 12 counties.
According to Met Éireann, the orange warning has been put in place for all of Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Louth, Westmeath and Meath
They stated that “Storm Dylan is expected to affect Ireland on Saturday night /early Sunday morning. Its expected track is northeastwards through Donegal Bay and up along the north-Ulster coast. The biggest impact from the storm will be across Connacht and Ulster where mean winds will reach speeds of 60 to 80 km/h with gusts of up to 120km/h.”
The warning was issued at 9am on Friday and is valid from Saturday 30 December 9pm to Sunday 31 December at 6am.

The new status yellow warning is a wind warning for all of Munster, Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Offaly.
“Southwest winds from Storm Dylan will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts up to 100 km/h on Saturday night /early Sunday morning.”
The warning was also issued on Friday morning at 9am and is valid from Saturday 30 December 9pm to Sunday 31 December at 6am.
