Super Speed Broadband Is Coming To These 10 Regional Towns

Sarah

Finally – Ireland is catching up on the rest of the civilised world and actually getting up to speed with fast broadband.

Donegal hasn’t exactly been on the radar for rapid downloading speeds, but now network firm Enet has announced a €5 million investment to bring fibre broadband to towns around the area.

Buncrana, Ballybofey, Stranorlar, Ballyshannon, Bundoran, Cootehill, Castleblayney, Ballinasloe, Manorhamilton and Donegal town are the lucky ten selected.

The move was made as part of meeting the government’s National Broadband Plan, which aims to connect as many as 1m premises, or 1.8m people, with a minimum of 30Mbps broadband.

Nice one – now we’ll just head up north to watch Game of Thrones.
