SuperValu Recalls Cereal Brand Over Fears It Could Contain Insects

Kiara Keane

SuperValu stores have issued a recall for one of its cereal brands over concerns there could be insects inside.

The recall notice applies to 750g packs of their own-brand Fruit & Fibre cereal that have a best before date of August 31, 2019.

It’s said that only a small number of them have been affected, but anyone who has recently bought a box from this batch is asked to bring it back to the shop for a refund.

A Food Safety Authority notice said, “As a precautionary measure, SuperValu is recalling the above batch of its Fruit and Fibre cereal, due to the possible presence of insects in a small number of packs.

“SuperValu is instructing its customers to return the affected products to its stores.”
