And it’s really pretty.
The new €15 collector coin has been issued by the Central Bank of Ireland to honour the inventor of the steam-turbine engine, Sir Charles Algernon Parsons.
There’s only going to be 6,000 coins issued so if you want to get your hands on one, you would want to be quick.

The €15 coin is the third in the Irish Science and Inventions series.
Although he was born in London, Parsons, who is credited as one of the greatest engineers of his time, spent most of his childhood in his family’s estate in Co. Offaly. He even went on to study in Trinity College Dublin.
The .925 Sterling Silver coin was designed by Antonella Napolione and features Parsons himself on the coin along with an early model of his steam-turbine engine.
We think it’s beautiful.
You can purchase the coin for €60 here.
