The entire country has been issued with a wind warning with ‘severe gusts’ expected

Met Éireann has issued a wind warning to the whole of Ireland, with ‘severe’ gusts expected over the coming days.

The new status yellow wind warning was issued at 3pm today and will be valid from 9pm on Wednesday until 11.59pm on Thursday. The warning states that ‘it will become very windy on Wednesday night and throughout the day on Thursday. Severe gusts are likely and there is a risk of some disruption.’

It is added that ‘Due to the combination of storm surge, spring tides and onshore winds there is a potential risk of coastal flooding’. Earlier today, Carlow Weather advised that there will be a ‘risk of flooding and very strong winds’ over the coming days and told followers to keep an eye out for weather warnings.

If you’re holidaying in Ireland this week, be sure to stay safe on the roads and follow all necessary precautions.
