The ‘Late Late’ Will Broadcast The First Exit Poll After Friday’s Election

Jen

Unless you’ve been in a coma for the past couple of months, you’ll know that the race for the presidency is coming an end this week.

On Friday, the public will vote for who they want to be the symbolic head of the country for the next seven years.

The Late Late Show has announced that it will broadcast the first exit poll result.

An exit poll is a sample survey of thousands of people who have already voted.

RTÉ has commissioned independent research company Red C to undertake the poll, interviewing over 2,000 people across Ireland immediately after they have voted on Friday.

It should give us a fair idea of who is going to be elected. The current polls are suggesting that the incumbent, Michael D Higgins, is ahead by a clear majority.

But, of course, it is still all to be decided.

The last exit poll for the 8th referendum predicted a 69.4% Yes vote.

The actual result was 66.4%, so it can be quite accurate.

Will Miggeldy slay the dragons? Will Ní Riada bring about a new Ireland? Will Gallagher Riverdance across the world?

All should be revealed on Friday night!

The Late Late show will be on at 9:35 pm on RTÉ One this Friday.
