The Most Expensive And Cheapest Areas To Rent In Ireland Have Been Revealed

Sarah

You know how you try to convince yourself that the soul-destroying amount of rent you pay is completely normal? Well it’s not. Christ it’s not.

New figures released by the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) show the most – and least – expensive areas to rent in across the country, and the difference in price is insane.

Not only did it find that the average rent in the country was €986, it’s also been revealed that the top five most expensive areas to rent in were all located in South Dublin.

Top of the list is suburb Stillorgan, where average rent will set you back €2,062, meaning you’re paying more than double the national average. *Sigh*

Following this is Dundrum with average rents of €1,837, Glencullen-Sandyford at €1,830, Rathfarnham at €1,702, and Blackrock at €1, 695.

Things get even more grim when you look at the opposite end of the scale, where Ireland’s cheapest place to rent in Glenties in Donegal at just €337 a month.

Things increase ever so slightly in Ballinamore in Leitrim at €419 per month, Inishowen in Donegal at €421 a month, Boyle in Roscommon at €451, and Manorhamilton in Leitrim at €452 a month.

Please can we just move everyone’s office into the countryside?
